Consulting Engineering Services have included the design of a crane boom dolly with the counterweights loaded onto the dolly. An approximate model of the overall crane with precise boom and turret details was created. The newly designed crane boom dolly was mated to the crane with appropriate constraints and degrees of freedom to investigate the range of motions for inclines and different crane turning radii to verify proper operation.
A complete 750 kip stiff double drilling rig on a box-on-box substructure complete with move system was designed for an drill site at Huntington Beach California. A requirement was to have Urban Concealment, to make the rig look like an office building. This was achieved by working with the client's architects and incorporating their concept into the rest of the rig design. Complete handing was also investigated for the rig-up process.
A need was identified for increasing the number of airplanes stored in an airplane hangar, that eliminated the risk of hangar rash when airplanes in a shared hangar are moved and provided enhanced airplane security.
The result was the design of a two-story carousel storage system for nine light twin engine airplanes. Each airplane is housed in a secured, OWNERS-ONLY access compartment equipped with security cameras and carousel operation notifications. Scheduled access can be programmed so your airplane will be sitting in front of the door when you arrive, reducing the time spent handling the airplane on the ground. Other benefits are reduced heating and cooling costs, decreased ground handling in storing or retrieving the airplane, and single person handling.
